Vladan Milojevic Joins Shanghai Shenhua, Debut Against Beijing Guoan

On August 13, the official announcement was made by Shanghai Shenhua FC that they have signed Serbian coach Vladan Milojević (弗拉丹·米洛耶维奇) until December 31, 2028. Upon completion of all formalities, Milojević will officially take charge as the head coach of the first team.

Challenges Ahead for the Debut Match

For his debut match, which is set to be against Beijing Guoan on August 18, Milojević and his core coaching staff will have a tough challenge. The match will be watched by the current中方教练组(Chinese coaching group)led by Mao Yijun. Milojević's first game as head coach will also see him facing a series of crucial matches in the upcoming schedule.

Coach’s Style and Tactical System

Milojević prefers to use a 4-2-3-1 formation, with double pivot midfielders and a high-pressing forward being key components of his tactical system. However, the current Shenhua squad lacks players who can fit these roles. Milojević will have to quickly adapt and integrate existing players into his preferred formation.

Defensive Strategies and Future Prospects

Shenhua management has shown remarkable efficiency in bringing in a new head coach within just 10 days, from the resignation of Slusar on August 2 to Milojević's arrival. However, the current squad composition does not fully align with Milojević’s preferred tactical setup. The club will need to make strategic transfers during next season's transfer window to better fit his tactics and bring in players that can bolster the team for future challenges.
