Shanghai Shenhua will travel to face Svay Rieng of Cambodia in their AFC Champions League Two group stage match on October 15, kicking off at 20:15 local time. The Chinese Super League side heads into the continental fixture on the back of a resounding 7-1 domestic victory over Yunnan Yukun.
Last Thursday's home win saw a rampant attacking display, with Rafael Ratão scoring a hat-trick. Xie Pengfei, Jin Shunkai, Wang Haijian and Liu Chengyu also found the net in a performance that will boost confidence ahead of the trip.
Recent Form and Lineup
Despite the big win, Shenhua's form over their last five matches reads one win, one draw and three losses. The team's top scorer this season, Rafael Ratão, has been in fine form, netting 18 goals in 27 appearances across all competitions.
The starting lineup that dismantled Yunnan Yukun featured a 4-4-2 formation with Xue Qinghao in goal, a back four of W. Manafa, Jin Shunkai, Zhu Chenjie and Chan Shinichi. The midfield was anchored by L. Asue, Wang Haijian, Wu Xi and Xie Pengfei, supporting the forward pair of J. Teixeira and Rafael Ratão.
Away Challenge Ahead
This match represents Shenhua's first away game in this season's AFC Champions League Two. The key will be translating their domestic attacking prowess to the Asian stage in a potentially unfamiliar environment.
The objective for Shenhua is clear: secure three points at Svay Rieng Stadium to build a strong platform for progression from the group.
